One of The Greatest Books in Astrology

The dark moon Lilith (rather than the asteroid or "black moon" by the same name) is one of the most important subjects in astrology. I have put it into over thirty thousand charts and readings and in my opinion it is the most powerful significator in the astrology chart. Most astrologers don't know about Lilith and many think it is fantasy. It is real. A dark moon of earth five hundred miles in diameter, like a dust cloud, but, in a sense, even more like a black hole, it bestows great power, wisdom, and effectiveness when used properly, but great pain and confusion when not. Named after the first wife of Adam in the Talmudic legends, it must be used objectively, creatively, and for universal good, not subjectively, uncreatively, and selfishly, or it will drive you crazy. This book has revolutionized my 35-year fulltime astrology practice. It has helped increase my accuracy tremendously. If you are an astrologer, I recommend you study this book, the only truly accurate book about the dark moon Lilith, and use Lilith in your practice. Delphine Jay is a brilliant writer, astrologer, and thinker. She has revealed Lilith as well as anyone can. Interpreting Lilith

There isn't much info out there on Lilith so I tend to buy what I find.
This book has lots of Lilith info on sign and house. More than I've seen in other books I own.
I've had to highlight the bare-bones for myself so I can add that to chart interpretations I do for people as
they don't need or want the abundance of info included in this great little book.
This book also has Lilith aspects to the planets, solstice point, directions, dignity and
Lilith in return charting,and her aspects in return charting (to the houses).
You will enjoy sitting back and reading up on Lilith in this book by D.G.Jay.

Takes a simple interpretation too far..

This text says way too much about a relatively small topic. A concise evaluation of each position by house, sign and aspect would be far superior to the multi-page diagnostic that ends up giving a lot of questionable information which in the end obscures the core meaning. When you are reading a chart you are seeking to incorporate each point, planet or asteroid into the energetic whole. You want a good basic idea of the meaning of each part. This book takes the meaning of each placement way too far. While I can see the inversion of certain sign/house related traits in my clients, the book goes on to extrapolate far too much about what those traits produce in terms of interactions and self evaluation. Often I'd get to the end of a chapter that started out on target, saying no, no, no,..nothing like the client.

summer boys a lame summer read

this book was very disappointing. The cover and synopsis make it sound interesting, but the inside fails to deliver. It has the makings of a great book: 3 girls, all at their Maine cottages for a fun summer. However, the plot quickly fizzles. There is Jamie and Ethan, Beth and George, and the Ella-Peter-Kelsi triangle. Jamie and Ethan met the previous summer, and had a pen and paper relationship for a year. Jamie is incredibly eager to see her boyfriend face to face again, but once she sees him, he becomes distant and pushes her away. Despondant Jamie goes into the classic destroyer mode, and tries everything to get him back, including dressing in a way that is totally not her, drinking herself into oblivion, and, of course, throwing herself at one of hid friends. Beth and George have been friends forever, but when George meets a girl on the beach, Beth suddelny realizes (duh) what a prince George is, and begins to hate innocent Cara, his new crush. She closes herself off, and resorts to ridiculous, childish tricks like hiding his clothes while he and Cara skinny-dip. All this does is enrage him, until the two have a romantic encounter (possibly under the influence of alcohol). George then takes off, leaving Beth even more confused. As for Ella, she is portrayed as the worldly girl who captures any and every boy she wants, and then dicards them at her leisure. On her first night in Maine, she spots Peter, the lead singer of a band. She falls head over heels in lust with him. Peter, however, seems to be the first boy who doesn't want Ella back: he prefers he all natural sister Kelsi, who certainly reciprocates the feeling. Ella becomes shy and unsure of herself, but still manages to exert all her charms to Peter. Kelsi, meanwhile, is showing all the signs of really falling in love. Then, she breaks up with him because he naturally wants too much, too fast. Ella has no problem secretly taking Kelsi's place, thouhg, and gives Peter what he wants. When Kelsi reveals to Ella that she knows Peter cheated on her, Ella almost dies.....until she realizes Kelsi doesn't know that she was the "other woman". Ella procedes to brazely lie to her sister, going as far as accompanying her to confront Peter the Cheater. Despite all this turmoil, Ella manages to waltz away without a scratch. The book leaves all 3 realationships unresolved. The "bad" characters receive no justice, and the "good" characters are left without satisfying endings. None of the characters are in depth. All the boys are percieved as shallow users, and the girls as desperate. This book is a perfect example of steryotyping.

Slightly Over-rated Fun in the Sun

Don't get me wrong. "Summer Boys", by all means, was definitely not a waste of ink on my summer reading list. But it was nowhere near as exciting as the story's juicy blurb made it out to be; thus, Hailey Abbott's novel became more and more predictable with every turn of the page.

Here's the facts and dets for those of you who are just dying to pick up this mildly-stimulating beach read.

Ella is by far, the most beautiful and most promiscous of her somewhat shy big sis and her two cousin cohorts, wants nothing more than a little time alone with the coolest guy on the shore. Too bad that he's fast and willingly becoming her sister Kelsi's main squeeze (not that anything so "trivial" has stopped Ella before). Then there's Jamie, the quiet chick who's hoping to rekindle her summer fling with her virginity-taking, adorable-beyond-words "boyfriend", Ethan. But a summer apart seems to have caused his heart to go wander instead of fonder. And finally, my fav and most easily connected with cousin, Beth. She came to spend the summer with her best friend George and soon finds herself on the lookout for the perfect "summer boy," only to find that he was possibly right under her nose all along.

On the plus side, this quick read is just that...QUICK, yet still fun and enjoyable. The uncertainty of relationships from beginning to end is a good touch. Beth's storyline compensates for Jamie's boring one and MOST of Ella's.

On the negative side, there are over-exaggerated characters like the latter, for instance...could the author have been channeling a particular blonde and thin partying socialite (c'mon,we ALL know how I'm talkin' about) a bit more than originally intended? And, those afore-mentioned "predictable" pratfalls in the "Boys" plot. Twenty or so pages before the very ending, you can pretty much create your own conclusion to the book and later learn your storybook wish for everybody came true.

Give "Summer Boys" a shot only if you're prepared to be, shall I say, kinda disappointed. It's sort of over-done for the younger ones' taste, so don't lend it to your nine-year-old sister afterward, either.

Sure this books a nice light read, looks cute and funny. Some may call it "hot" but seriously people this book is none of the above. Way to throw girls off with a sexy title, truly, this book is boring. It's really a pointless book that repeats itself constantly, Its all about three girls who are dateing boys, and it's not exciting at all. You really need more conflict in this book. Overall i think this book is stupid. Im sorry if you liked this book, but everyone gets to share their opinion, RIGHT?

More and even hotter

Jenny's first day at the Albrecht Stables continues being both sexually demanding and degrading for her. Yet some sparks start to jump back and forward between her and Mark.
Jenny is used but not by whom she hoped. This adds a whole new and interesting layer to the suspense already created.
This well written story is fascinating and aroussing and so well described the reader can sit back and close the eyes and be there. I'm looking forward to part four.

Exciting but unbelievable.

An exciting and captivating book, but a little too fantastic to be "believable". When writing fiction about current or historical events, an author must strive to make the plot seem plausible. Joe Weber is an excellent author, but he missed the mark on this book. When a B-2 bomber is hijacked and flown to a hidden "underground" hanger in Cuba, the plots goes off the track with everyone involved in decision-making from the President of the United States to the Russian leaders and Fidel Castro displaying some of the dumbest mistakes possible. AND in addition to the un-credible plot, the author chooses to use fictitious names for the Russian and American leaders, while using the actual names of the Castro brothers in his story. To me, this is a serious mistake when mixing key-characters between actual and fictitious names.

Just One Problem

I love the message of the book which is why I bought it to read to my two toddler grand daughters. They love it too. Now I know this next comment is going to cause some to think I'm nuts, but I could not give the book 5 stars for one reason. I do not want my grand daughters to learn to speak incorrectly like most of Americans do yet two pages contain the same error in grammar. "Me and my friends at school have fun..." is NOT something I want the girls to hear. It should be "My friends and I have fun..." Later we read, "Me and my mommy run in..." Sorry! This is not written by a 4 year old. There's no good reason to use poor grammar. Children say what they hear. I was disappointed. If you agree, I suggest you still buy the book but change these sentences with a pen and read them the correct way to your young ones.

I just found this book because I am a fan of Elycia's and noticed she has a new children's book. As a parent, I appreciate the message of this story, but more importantly, my children and their friends truly connect with the message as well. They are now saying No Biggy! whenever they feel frustrated and it has really helped. The theme of No Biggy applies to everyone, whether you're a four year old or a forty year old. This is a very special book that kids (and their parents will love), the illustrations are eye-catching and fun, and it's a perfect gift too.

Not Recommended as a Reference for Small Scale systems

I got this book on commercial hydroponics because as a retired engineer, I tend to be disappointed in the lack of technical details in most hobby oriented books. Alas, this book does not translate well at all into smaller scale, home systems, and as a reference, it is very difficult to find specific details without a lot of looking and reading. It was clearly written by an academic (Phd) type, not an engineer, and it is not a great reference for someone planning, designing and building their own small system. For one example, Resh does not support his recommendation for fast drain and fill times and no puddling for gravel culture, with either specific observations or any real data, and his next section on subirrigation of gravel beds clearly shows a drain pipe in gravel that will leave a puddle in the bottom of each bed. Since many systems today such as dutch buckets rely on not fully draining, in order to provide a backup reservoir of sorts in case of top-drip or ebb and flow pump failure, you have to wonder about some of Resh's bold faced assertions. If he supported these with references to published papers, or some test data showing oxygen levels at the roots, or growth comparisons, or related his personal experiences better, I would be a lot more impressed with his book.

I would not recommend this as a reference text for smaller scale systems, and I would certainly not recommend it for a hobbyist/home grower.

The same author has a book on hobby systems and it may be quite good if he adopted a very different style of writing. I think Keith Roberto's "How to Hydroponics" is OK, and I really very much enjoyed Jame Dekorne's ancient and small "The Hydroponic Hot House" with his crude methods and experiments exposed, warts and all.

I was convinced to buy this book by your reader reviews but I was disappointed to receive a black and white version (according to your comment on a previous reader's review only an older out of print version comes in b&w).Content is, however,excellent-very comprehensive and well worth having!

Outstanding book full of usefull information and data in setting up and operation of large scale hydroponics farms but the information will aid the smaller scale operations this book is a must for the smaller greenhouse hydroponic grower.
