Dating "formula" is not a solution-for-all!

I really wanted to like this book. Really. But two chapters in, I was rolling my eyes a little too far back into my head and by the time I got half-way into the book, I just couldn't read any further. My beef with this book and her approach is that she seems to think that by applying some formula, you will find The One. I disagree with her "formula" for several reasons. First of all, we are ALL wired differently - so why would applying some formula work for everybody? The mere concept of it is ludicrous.

Here are some instances in the book that I disagree with.

Dating 3 men simultaneously may prevent you from getting infatuated with one particular guy and jumping into the sack with him too early, but it's not for everyone, especially when you're over 45! It's just not part of my personality to juggle men like that. I never dated more than 1 guy at a time even when I was in my 20s. She also encourages people to date "against their type" - the idea being that you might find a diamond in the rough and overcome falling into your deadly patterns. Well that might work for some... but it'll be a cold day in hell when I date a man who turns me off (be it physically, mentally or emotionally). I'd rather stay single than go out with a man that I'm not attracted to. I'm not *that* desperate.

I respect the fact that she's a psychologist and that her method works for some people but I would strongly suggest that you follow your instincts when it comes to dating (unless your biological clock is ticking and you can't wait, you're desperate and can't stand being alone, etc..) Far too many people compromise or settle for less than they deserve because they figure it's as good as it gets and they might as well cut their losses. Wrong. There IS someone out there for (almost) everyone who is absolutely perfect for you in every way and is even better than you could have imagined. He/She is WORTH WAITING FOR. You just need a little patience and imagination.

I've done the online dating, personals ads, etc... and every single time it's been a great disappointment even when I went into it with a positive mindframe and the intent to succeed. Finding a quality partner in those ads is like finding a needle in a haystack. Clearly it works for some people... but not everyone. Use Law of Attraction and be patient. You're far more likely to succeed that way. After all, it's based on fundamental laws of the Universe. Who can argue with that?

Blessed to have learned the path to Love.

My life has literally transformed because of the education that I have received from this book. I was in a relationship that was going nowhere for over 6 years and from reading Dr Diana' book I was able to easily identify the deadly dating pattern that I was in and took measures to change. I followed the directions explicitly and gathered a group of 8 women together to create Team Love where we read a chapter of the book each week and reported to the group on our personal discoveries. We all were committed to learning a new way of relating and dating and encouraged one another to continue on the journey to love. Dr. Diana was our mentor and she gave us her personal time in coaching and encouragement. What an amazing experience.!
Now, after several months I have extracted myself from the addictive relationship I was in and am now involved with a man who is the exact opposite of what I would normally choose. I learned what to look for in a man, what is most important to me in relationship and was able to attract that man into my life. This process is amazing because it works. All of our Team Love members have transformed the way they date and the way they look at themselves and the men in their lives. One of the ladies from Team Love has found the love of her life (in 90 days) and I, too, have found a man with an amazing capacity to love.
I am so grateful and appreciative of this book, "Love in 90 Days" and even more so for the author, Dr Diana Kirschner, who has personally been there to counsel, mentor and encourage each of us on the path to Love.

True Best Dating Guide

Thank you for this wonderful dating book on how to find a Love in 90 days, and not just any love but a true and lasting LOVE!!

Never before, have I thought of dating more than 1 one Man at a time. Now, after reading "Love in 90 Days" I dated more than one man for a while - wihout feeling guilty about it and just enjoying the process - and after successfuly dating and following the advice I narrowed down my choice of men to one. and still, if I ever have to go back to date more than one man at a time, to feel desired and worthy, I will do it without guilt or shame.

The book is brilliant, it is the best dating book ever!! And written with so much compassion and undertanding of women's nature. With honest explanations why we need to do or not do certain things in order to connect well with Men and be desired by them.

I love this book and I recommend it to every woman who is dating. I recommended it recently for a girlfriend who has been out of the dating scene for a while. After reading only few chapters of the book, she went on her first date. And I am sure that by the time she finishes reading the entire book, she will be going on many, many successful dates, thanks to this wonderful book.

A Writing Guide for Novice Scholars

I am a PhD student. This book was recommended by an instructor who cared about making me a better scholar. Stott's writing advice is crisp, clear, and actionable. After I implemented his recommendations, my assignments were consistently noted for their quality of expression. My writing is judged on what I say (content), not how I say it (style). I will always struggle with my writing. In spite of that fact, I now have a book that guides and encourages me with practical, effective advice. I wish I'd had this book earlier in my academic career!

This book explained how to improve my writing

I had a Ph.D., needed to publish, thought I was a 'good writer' but in fact my writing was obtuse, rambled, unfocused and ineffective. A supervisor gave me this book. Within two years my writing was getting easily accepted for trade and academic publishing alike. Writing is now something I consider one of my strengths. I recommend this book to staff and students.

Best Book On Nonfiction Writing

This is an excellent book. I would rate this as the best book on nonfiction writing. Bill Stott encourages you to break and bend the rules and tells you why you should start a sentence with "and" or "but." His writing flows perfectly and you can practically read it right through like a regular book. If you need suggestions on how to improve your writing slgihtly or a lot, this book is for you!

A Fun cosy

Birmingham, Alabama's Southern Sisters are tired after just returning home from spending two weeks in Warsaw, Poland celebrating the wedding of Patricia Anne's daughter. However, their idyllic breather ends even before it begins when cousin Luke "Puke" Nelson asks for their help. Apparently, Virginia, Luke's wife of forty years, left him for a house painter, Holden "Monk" Crawford. Reluctantly Patricia Anne agrees to accompany her more enthusiast sibling Mary Alice in finding the runaway.

Mouse and Sister as Patricia Anne and Mary Alice are more commonly known trace Virginia and Monk to a remote church on Mount Chandler. However, instead of finding the runaways, the Southern Sisters find the corpses of two murdered people, neither being Monk or Virginia. As they continue their inquiries, Sister and the local Sheriff seem stuck on one another. Ultimately, they locate a dead Monk, but they still have not found the missing Virginia.

Fans of the series will fully enjoy the seventh cozy in the Southern Sisters series. MURDER CARRIES A TORCH centers more on Mouse's humorous asides with the reader about the excessive behavior of Sister than on detective work. Still, that should not surprise fans of the series, as that is the essence of all the novels.

Another Fantastic Southern Sisters Mystery Y'all!

Have you ever had your two favourite aunts go away for a year on an adventure....then have them return to share with you the trouble they got themselves into. This is what reading an Anne George Southern Sisters mystery is like. These books make me laugh until I can't breath, bring tears to my eyes and keep me on the edge of my chair until the last tale has been told. Murder Carries a Torch is indeed a visit with those whacky relatives. You've got dead snake-charmers, purple boots, angel-sightings, pukey cousins, disappearing wives and the most loveable sisters in mystery today. The fact that one of the the ladies is now 'wired' is a bonus...the part describing Patricia Anne's experience with e-mail 'spam' is hilarious, and I was smart enough this time round not to have a mouthfull of anything when I read it. Like the rest of the books in this series, Torch is pure heaven. The only downside here is the wait for the next one!

Solid Gold for Mystery Lovers!

Anne George continues to top herself with each Southern Sisters mystery. I became interested in them initially, because I, too, had an Aunt Sister, but the lively plots and characters keep me coming back again and again. There are very few books that make me laugh out loud, but these do and in particular, her latest entry. Patricia Ann and Mary Alice get mixed up with snake-handling holy rollers and all hell breaks loose! I could not put it down and literally read all night. Don't miss this one!
